Interview: How I Analyze Cultural Tours Using AI and Data

I recently had the opportunity to share how I approach the analysis of cultural tours using structured data, pricing patterns, and real user signals.

Over the past months, I’ve analyzed more than 80 guided tours across major landmarks such as the Colosseum, the Louvre, the Sagrada Familia, and Leonardo da Vinci’s Last Supper.

The goal was simple: understand what actually makes a tour worth it.

One of the most interesting findings is that price and quality are only weakly correlated. In many cases, tours priced significantly higher deliver a very similar experience to mid-range options, with only marginal differences in ratings.

Instead of relying on marketing descriptions, I focus on measurable variables:

  • duration
  • included areas (underground, towers, restricted zones)
  • group size
  • guide type
  • review patterns

This allows building a more objective view of what each tour really offers.
